There is a great choice of dog-friendly movies every Saturday night through October, thanks to Eat See Hear and Street Food Cinema. Along with the outdoor movies are mouth-watering food trucks and live music.
Held in venues as diverse as the polo fields of Will Rogers State Park, the Santa Monica High School amphitheater, Pasadena’s Centennial Square, city parks and a golf course, this is a fun way to spend a summer evening. Blankets, cushions and low chairs are advisable as not all venue have grass to sit on.
See Eat Hear (SEH) shows movies on a three-story tall, 52-foot wide inflatable movie screen. Dogs get free biscuits at the door. Their shows run through mid-September.
Street Food Cinema (SFC) offers Angelenos more than 60 events in 14 locations across Los Angeles through October. The doors for SFC events usually open around 5:30 p.m., with music at 6:30 p.m. and movie screenings at 8 or 8:30 p.m. There is some variation between venues. It’s a good idea to check movie times before you go as they are subject to change.
ESH will be showing “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “The Warriors,” “Ocean’s Eleven,” “Blazing Saddles,” “Ground Hog Day,” “Easy Rider,” “Back to the Future,” and “Selena,” among others.
SFC movies this year include “Romeo and Juliet,” “500 Days of Summer,” “The Princess Bride,” “Grease,” “Mamma Mia!”, “Black Panther,” “Casablanca,” “Pretty Woman,” and “The Lion King.”
